This guy has a history of some of the most idiotic Mac articles... but to make up for it he has said some phenomenally dumb things about PC's as well. The guy actually seems sharp -- some of the time. But when he is off, he is waaaay off. Unfortunately because he is sometimes "on", people pay more attention to him than they should. (IMHO of course)

Apples NeXT move misses the mark

The article (more accurately described as Alsop Misses the mark) was a whiny and error ridden discourse is about how Apple made the wrong decision in purchasing NeXT instead of BeOS, and how now Apple was doomed because of it. Oh, yeah, he mentions that he has a big investment in a Ventured Capital firm that just happens to have invested heavily in Be. (No bias there).

As you know, normally I feel I should personally reply to such ignorance and errors, but in this case other articles did more than enough to shred Alsop and his writings.
