AppleScript Editor

Code Names: AppleScript 1.0 - Cheeze Whiz, Toy Surprise, Gustav
Code Names: AppleScript 1.1 - Guava Surprise, Pure Guava
Code Names: AppleScript 1.1.2 - Dynamic Tofu

Apple Script is Apple's Scripting Additions -- which allow people to make many Applications work together to complete complex (automated) tasks.

There are two different about menus in the AppleScript editor -- one is "About AppleScriptEditor..." and the other is "About AppleScript...". They are slightly different so both are documented for posterity.

  1. In the AppleScript Editor, choose "About Script Editor..." from the Apple menu.
  2. Then hold down the Control key and click on the program's icon or the text "The Script Editor"

You will see the words "Guava Surprise" (or "Dynamic Tofu" for versions 1.1.2 and 1.1.3)

  1. Then click the Credits button.

The credits have changed to:

everything from happening at once."

Variation

  1. In the AppleScript Editor, choose "About Script..." from the Apple menu.
  2. Then hold down the Control key and click on the program's icon or the text "Apple Script"

You will see the words "Guava Surprise" (or "Dynamic Tofu" for versions 1.1.2 - 1.1.3) -- but there isn't enough room for Dynamic Tofu in the dialog -- so you get "Dynamic To"

Balloons

  1. In the Apple Script Editor, selecting Balloon Help and then point to the "Windows" menu

This will display the message:

"Use this menu to bring various Toy Surprise windows to the front..."

Another

  1. Point to "About the Script Editor..." or "About AppleScript..." from the Apple pull down menu

This displays:

"Displays the Script Editor's keen About Box."

Finally

  1. Place your cursor over "File" in the Menu Bar.

It will say:

"Use this menu to create, open, save and close script files; print; set preferences; and quit Toy Surprise."

Cursor

As if you weren't having enough fun, there is still more.

  1. Use ResEdit to open CURS ID 130

And what you get is just another pretty face: it is really a tiny face with an attitude. I do not know where or when this might appear in the program.
